Today does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no server of ours that holds your writing, and no analytics watching what you do.
The short version: your journal lives on your device. If you use iCloud, it syncs through your Apple account, which we cannot access. We never see a single word you write.
Nothing. Today has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party SDKs. We do not know who you are, that you installed the app, or whether you ever open it.
Your answers, moods and any photos you attach are stored locally on your device.
If you are signed in to iCloud, they also sync to your own private iCloud database so they are available on your other devices. That data is held by Apple under your Apple Account and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to it and no ability to read, export or recover it.
If you attach a photo to an entry, it is stored with that entry — on your device and in your own iCloud. It is never uploaded anywhere else. The app only ever accesses a photo you explicitly choose.
The optional daily reminder is scheduled entirely on your device. Nothing is sent through a server, and the reminder never contains the day's question — only a gentle nudge that one is waiting.
If you turn on the Face ID lock, authentication is handled by iOS. The app is only told whether it succeeded. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never available to us.
Today is a private journal with no social features, no user-generated content shared with anyone, and no data collection. It is suitable for all ages.
Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device. To remove synced copies, delete the app's data from iCloud in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete and no request to make of us.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Should Today ever collect anything at all, that change would be stated plainly and in advance.
